We dip our picks into the weekend with much anticipated matches from Chelsea, United, City and Liverpool with Chelsea heading to White Hart Lane, United heading to Leicester and the Saints travelling to the Etihad. Easy wins are expected for Arsenal and Everton as they take on Norwich and Bournemouth respectively. We take a look at the various matches in isolation.

Everton's Romelu Lukaku celebrates scoring against Crystal Palace in the Premier League

This fixture isn’t much of a competition as most people expect Everton to win hands down. Everton would be expecting an easy fixture but the newly promoted would want to show that they aren’t pushovers as they play in front of a home crown. Everton who were prolific in their previous fixture against Aston Villa would want to carry on the form of their previous week into this fixture.

Goals from Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku gave Everton a 4-0 win at home last week. Bournemouth took a two goal lead against struggling Swansea in their previous game but showed little resilience as Swansea came from behind to pull level.

Everton should win this game fairly easily and I’m going with a 0-3 win with at least a goal from Lukaku.

Coming from two straight losses, Pellegrini and his men would want to forget the misfortunes of the previous week. With the return of Sergio Aguero, It is natural to expect a couple of goals from the argentine. Southampton also have a couple of tricks up their sleeve when it comes to the big games.

With both teams suffering defeats in the previous game week, with City getting trashed at home against a Klopped Liverpool and Southampton also beaten at home against Stoke, City would have it all to do against a balanced Southampton. The Saints are going to be without Italian striker Graziano Pelle and would look to Sadio Mane and Shane Long for goals. City are going to miss the presence of commanding skipper Vincent Kompany.

But I believe the individual brilliance of Sterling, Aguero and de Bruyne to see City through.

City to win 3-1

The foxes have been synonymous to Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez this season and United are also the Kings of 0-0 draws. Leicester have scored most goals in the Premier League this season with 28 goals but have conceded 20 goals losing their only game against Arsenal. United on the other hand have conceded the least number of goals and haven’t been very prolific scoring 19 goals in 13 games.

The defensive presence of Chris ‘Mike’ Smalling has shown in the number of goals they’ve conceded this season. With Jamie Vardy looking to break a record set by United legend for scoring in 10 consecutive games, Jamie would do everything in his power to get a goal. With pundits saying this would be the duel of the game week, there’s a lot of things to look forward to in this game.

I don’t think there’s much separating these two teams at the moment hence I’m going with a draw which would most likely be 1-1 with either Jamie Vardy or RIyad Mahrez getting the goal for the Foxes.

Many fancy Tottenham to win this match looking at their form this season but I would have to go with a Chelsea win or draw. Chelsea are known to be big game players with a very good record against the big guns in recent years. Tottenham have lost only one match this season and have impressed many with their game this season. Chelsea on the other hand have been very disappointing this season finding themselves 5 points above relegation zone and have lost 7 games already this season.

With Harry Kane finding his feet in recent weeks after the arrival of Christian Eriksen, they have been a constant threat going forward. The forms of Delle Alli and Eric Dier have also helped them defensively. Willian who has been the top performer for Chelsea with a couple of goals to his name would be the main threat for Chelsea. Chelsea have been playing some good games of recent but have struggled to get results. Tottenham scored 4 against Slaven Bilic’s side last week with Harry Kane getting on the score sheet in the process.

I believe after 2 positive results, Chelsea have enough to grind out a result at the White Hart Lane this weekend.

This game has a Liverpool written all over it.

Liverpool have been very impressive in recent days with their high pressure game and fast football with Firmino and Coutinho particularly standing out. Swansea have been struggling and their under pressure manager Gary Monk would want to keep his job but I fear he might not have enough to beat this hot blooded Liverpool. The Klopp effect has been very evident since his arrival at Anfield.

I’d say Liverpool to win 2-0

Norwich stand the test of playing one of the best teams in the Premier League this weekend. Arsenal would want to bounce back from the humiliating defeat in the hands of West Brom last weekend. Norwich have nothing to lose in this match but would want to show that they are no pushovers in the tie. Norwich have struggled to win matches this season and carry this form to face Arsenal at home.

Arsenal who are without certain key figures managed a win at home against Dynamo Zagreb in the UCL. They also have Mesut Ozil who can create chances out of nothing and Alexis Sanchez still in fit for the game. Norwich will look to Nathan Redmond to make something happen for them in this tie,

Definitely an Arsenal win. I’d say 0-2
