Louis Van Gaal will certainly be having a drink after his team coast past Stoke City on Tuesday night football. The pressure the media and press heaped on him was a hefty one and the team performance against Stoke will help reduce some of them.

Anthony Martial was the man of the moment again, the youngster drove United to victory with a fantastic goal and another superb assist. The fans at Old Trafford were chanting his name as he dazzled pass defenders and mesmerized them with his outrageous abilities. He’s only 20 but has managed to score six goals in his first season at the premier league and nine in all competitions, bright future ahead aye?

Back to the game, Manchester United started the game in a high flying manner, they played very well in the first half and the performance yielded two goals in the first half which is very rare at Old Trafford this season. Seems like it is the best first half football they have played this season.

“Man Utd created 12 first half chances tonight, the most they’ve created in a premier league first half this season” -@Squawka

Captain Rooney also impressed today, he scored and assisted a goal. The England captain has scored a total of seven goals in seven appearances this season and looks eager to score more. Rooney assisted Anthony Martial’s sublime goal and later tapped home Martial’s cross to the right penalty area. The fans thought he has become a different player this new year; New year, New Wazza.

Birthday boy, Borthwick Jackson was solid against stoke, the youngster is really making use of his opportunity. He set up the first goal which was scored by Jesse Lingard. The fans thinks he’s improving and got a lot of potentials, you can see the fans reactions later at the fans reactions section.

Carrick returned to the starting eleven Replacing Schneiderlin and most people (including myself) thought that it was an absurd decision to field Michael Carrick and Maroune Fellaini in the Midfield position but it turned out to be a success for Ol Louis Van Gaal, Carrick brought calmness and balance to the Midfield and was one of the outstanding performers at old Trafford today.

First goal was scored by Jesse Lingard assisted by Borthwick Jackson, second was scored by Anthony Martial assisted by Wayne Rooney and the last goal was scored by Wayne Rooney assisted by Anthony Martial.

The fans cheered and clapped at full time at Old Trafford and hope to see more of the same or even a better performance from the team in the future.
