Suarez after scoring the equalizer

Barcelona managed to notch a win against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou today with a slander victory of 2-1 and Suarez once again was in the score sheet, twice. After Barcelona’s defeat against Real Madrid last weekend, many thought the disappointment may affect their team morale but it didn’t look that way as they fought had to manage a win against 10 men Atletico.

Diego Simeone came to win at Camp Nou and was extremely delighted after an opener from former Chelsea forward Fernando Torres, who scored on the 25th minutes. Torres had a great game until the 35th minute when he was sent off after getting a second yellow card for fouling Sergio Busquets.

Atletico managed to put up a fight in the first half after Torres was sent off but were totally submissive in the second half. Torres’ red card obviously changed the game, his team-mates focused more on defending and had little activities in the Barcelona half in the second half.

Barcelona’s hard work payed off after Suarez grabbed the equalizer on the 63rd minute and later scored what turned out to be the winner on the 74th minute, giving Barcelona a 2-1 victory which they look to build on when they visit Calderon on the return leg.

Luis Suarez with the likes of Dani Alves, Messi, Iniesta, Neymar and others impressed very well in the game. Neymar troubled Juanfran on the right wing position, Messi mesmerized the Atletico defence with his quick foot while Luis Suarez was a nightmare for Godin and co. Atletico managed to concede only two goals after scoring one at Camp nou which gives them a chance of qualifying as they look forward to the return leg at Calderon.
