The third round draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup held on Friday in Cairo, Egypt saw the Black Stars face a tricky draw for qualification to their 4th consecutive world cup.

They were drawn against Egypt, Congo and Uganda in Group E and the Pharaohs will prove to be a stern opposition for them.

Coach Avram Grant’s side who have already qualified for next year’s African Cup Of Nations with a game to spare will be hoping to top their group and gain automatic qualification to the main event in Russia.

The Black Stars last faced Egypt in a play-off for the 2014 world cup winning it 7-3 on aggregate.

Group A is comprised of Tunisia, Libya, DR Congo and Guinea, while Group B, arguably the group of death, comprises Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.

Group D consists South Africa, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso and Senegal and finally Group C has Gabon, Mali, Cote D’Ivoire and Morocco.

The matches will be played from October 2016 to November 2017 with the team topping the group at the end, qualifying for the main tournament.
