West Ham striker Andre Ayew could recover from injury within a fortnight, not four months, according to the Ghanaian FA’s technical director.
The £20 million record signing was sidelined until November after going down with a thigh injury just 20 minutes into his debut against Chelsea.
But now, with the help of traditional herbal medicine back in Ghana, the West African country’s FA believe Ayew can be cured and return to West Ham in as early as two weeks’ time.

Oti Akenteng, the technical director of the Ghanaian FA, wants Ayew to fly to Ghana as soon as possible to receive the unorthodox treatment.
“There are a lot of herbal medical doctors, who can use traditional medicine to cure Andre Ayew’s injury in just two weeks,” he told Ghanian radio station Nhyira FM.
“I will speak to his father about that. I believe that if he comes to Ghana and returns as a fit person, his manager would have no other option than to use him.”
