Chelsea hosted current premier league champions at the Stamford bridge earlier today, a game Chelsea dominated at ease; with goals from on form Diego Costa, Hazard and Victor Moses.
Some players surely impressed while others struggled throughout the game. We give our player ratings /10.
Courtois: Hardly made any major save as Leicester registered no attempts on goal. The Belgian had to make a couple of light catching and distribution as other major works were covered by his team mates. – SF Rating 6.8
Azpilicueta: Was solid at the back; won important aerial duels, tracked and man marked Ahmed Musa very well. The Spaniard also connected with Victor Moses as both players contributed to the chaos coming from the right wing. – SF Rating 7.7
David Luiz: Was massive for Chelsea, collaborated with Cahill to make sure they shut out Jamie Vardy and Ahmed Musa. The Brazilian also tried his luck in front of goal with two great attempts from set pieces. – SF Rating 8.2
Gary Cahill: The England international was solid today against Leicester, he sure eased the job for Courtois. He looked comfortable building play from the back too. – SF Rating 8.1
Marcos Alonso: Played as a partial winger today, was superb upfront wit a couple of decent crosses and passes. – SF Rating 7.6
N’Golo Kante: Kante had a superb game against his former club Leicester City and was rewarded with the Man of the match award after the game. He played in front of Cahill and David Luiz, covered a lot of space in the midfield area; he practically ran the whole show today. – SF Ratings 8.4
Matic: Matic was also superb in the midfield, outplayed Drinkwater and Amartey in the midfield position. He also assisted Chelsea’s first goal with an intelligent flick, setting the ball for Costa to bury home – SF Rating 8.4
Moses: Superb performance from the Nigerian who replaced absent Willian, made a couple of runs and attacking play, his performance was cemented with a great goal before the final whistle. – SF Rating 8.5
Hazard: Hazard impressed for his side today. Made a couple of intelligent moves, linked play with Pedro and Costa and earned himself a goal. – SF Rating 8.2
Pedro: Had a decent game too, assisted Hazard’s goal in a bizarre way. – SF Rating 7.8
Costa: The man of the moment; opened the scoring after Matic’s little flick rolled to him. He has now scored 7 in 8 games. – SF Rating 8.0
Chalobah: Came in as a substitute and assisted Victor Moses’ goal – SF Rating 7.2
Aina and Loftus-Cheek came as subsitutes later on in the game.
Leicester City started the game without Mharez, Slimani and Danny Simpson, and this made the task easy for their team mates who tried to cope without them.
