Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Granit Xhaka deserved a “dark yellow” card for his foul on Modou Barrow on Saturday.
The 24-year-old was given his marching orders in the 3-2 win over the Swans earlier today, after hauling down Barrow as Bob Bradley’s side searched for an equaliser.
However, Xhaka’s red card – which was his fourth since the start of the 2015/16 season – was criticised by many, with supporters feeling it was a harsh decision by Jon Moss.
And it appears Wenger agrees with that verdict, telling reporters after the game that Xhaka got a “bright red”, but deserved less than that.
“It looked to me a dark yellow…but the referee gave a bright red,” Wenger said.
