Senegal became the first team to qualify for the knockout round following their emphatic 2-0 win against Zimbabwe.

It was a slaughter house at the Stade de Franceville as Senegal produced countless goal scoring opportunities from the get-go.

Zimbabwe ran out onto the pitch showing too much respect for the No 1 ranked team in Africa – and in the end, they got schooled.

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane bagged his second goal of the tournament to become joint top goalscorer with Riyad Mahrez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he tapped in to give his side a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.

Mane was on fire and danced through the Warriors midfield to create a flurry of chances for both Mame Diouf and Keita Balde.

However, it was Henri Saivet with a moment of brilliance when he stepped up for a set-piece from 30 yards out. Saivet calmly lifted the ball over the wall and tucked it into the top-left corner for their second goal.

Zimbabwe were chasing shadows for most of what looked like a training match.

Senegal remain at the top of Group B with six points and will surely rest some key players in their final group game against Algeria.
